What are the different types of destination wedding ceremonies?2025-03-05T16:49:01-06:00

Destination Weddings are either a legal ceremony or a symbolic ceremony.

Symbolic destination weddings are the most common because it’s the easiest way to tie the knot abroad and allows you to make it as personal as possible. The caveat is that a symbolic wedding is not considered legally binding.

A legal ceremony is just that – legally binding. There are different requirements depending on the destination that you choose. It is definitely trickier than a symbolic ceremony, but not impossible! Your travel expert will help with all of the necessary requirements if you wish to have a legal ceremony in destination.

Your LovinAway advisor will be on top of your room block to make sure any unused rooms are released before incurring a penalty. If you do a flexible group rate (live rate), then it is subject to resort penalties at the time of cancellation. Cancellation fees for the wedding itself can vary from resort and venue.

Will my guests be able to find lower rates booking online?2025-03-05T16:54:21-06:00

While it is possible, it is rare that the room block rates are not the best price. If your destination wedding is booked through a room block, we have a contract that not only provides a great rate to all of your guests, but guarantees the room booked or something better. This isn’t always the case with third-party travel websites!
